How to Create a Cozy Bedroom

As you probably are already aware, we recently moved to a house from our beloved condo. It was a tough decision, but we knew we needed the space for our little girl on the way. Because we are only living here temporarily until we start house hunting after our wedding in October, I decided not to buy too many pieces or change our furniture from the condo.

With that being said, we did make some upgrades to our new bedroom for more storage. I will most likely change our duvet cover eventually, but for now I’m still loving the one we bought back when we first moved in together.

When putting together a cozy bedroom, it’s important to think of relaxing elements that create a sense of calm such as comfy bedding and pillows. I am a huge believer that the bedroom should be reserved for sleeping, but I will occasionally read in bed when I need to wind down at the end of the day instead of playing with my phone. Scents and ambiance are important too, which is why I use a lavender room spray nightly and a humidifier to help keep my skin hydrated while sleep.

I’ve also been trying to make it a habit to make my bed daily, bring down cups and throw out tissues to keep the space tidy and welcoming. I love that our bed has storage so we can reduce clutter yet the things we need everyday are close at hand.
