Emma’s Baptism

On Sunday we celebrated Emma’s baptism! It was definitely not the way we intended it to be, but we made sure it was a special day regardless.

Our original plan was to have a small celebration of 10 people which included all her grandparents, aunt and uncles. Because our province went into a state of emergency lockdown a few days before the event (I know, can you say stresssss) we had to do everything virtually.

We still ordered food and desserts, and you bet I still made everything I wanted to decor-wise. Marc was able to set up a livestream link, which allowed our family and friends to watch Emma be christened from the comfort of their own living rooms.

As I mentioned on my Instastories the other day, we did not expect that her covid-restricted ceremony would be so intimate, beautiful and memorable. As much as we wanted our families and friends to be there in person, the private ceremony we had with the priest, godparents and Marc’s brother was so special! For the decor, I wanted a “winter florals” theme which featured white flowers mixed with winter greenery, and a neutral colour palette of creams and beiges. Emma wore my baptism dress, which I’m so happy my mom kept because it looked so cute on her! I’m still obsessed over her headband, which I’ve linked below and my mom got her Valentino inspired shoes!

I honestly don’t know how we managed to pull everything off considering we had less than two weeks notice and I had to order everything online for delivery and curbside pickup due to all stores being closed (I went to three different Michael’s locations to get everything I needed – LOL). In the end, everything turned out amazing and exactly how I wanted it.
